It's time for a change. I decided to split my professional singing information from Vocal Splendor, the singing resource. The information for the singer, Valerie Williams can now be found at www.valeriewilliams.net. Vocal Splendor will still have all the articles and resources but with a new look.

Where did this year go?!!! I have worked very hard this summer and fall on my new, home studio. It is so nice to teach in a professional space again with my piano, my music and all my gear. Because of this, I have not pursued as much singing work. But fret not! I will be singing a Christmas concert with the Seattle Opera Singers on December 21st. Check my schedule page for more details!

Time for a little clean up!  I decided to trim the message board and unfinished digital music page. Once apon a time, mp3.com was a great place for independent artists but no more. I guess you will have to wait for my memoirs for the whole story. I have also added a page of Recommended Repertoire for the Voice Studio. This includes links to Sheet Music Plus and includes most of the music that I use in my voice studio. I will be adding to it over time and also will be fine tuning my affiliate page, newly named The Singer's Store. Stay tuned.

I finally received the recording from my New Year's Eve concert with the Federal Way Chorale. We performed Orff's Carmina Burana with excerpts from Handel's Messiah. You can hear the full length mp3s of my solos at my music page.

It's a whole new look! In light of my move to the Seattle area and my subsequent burgeoning singing career, I thought a new, more professional look was in order. I've added a schedule, where you can check out where I'll be performing. I finally added some more headshots to my photo gallery. I also added a site map which will make it easier to find what you need. I moved my awards to a separate page and picked up a new award, The Golden Cords Award. (Thanks Mark!) I updated my F.A.Q. and added some new links to my What Else page. I will be working on getting the deeper layers of the site switched over to the new look in the coming weeks.

I added a bunch of excellent, new links to my links page. I am also beginning to catch up with all the work from my recent move, so I hope to be able to spend a little more time on this site. For those of you who have sent email, please forgive my lack of response. I'm a bit behind, I'm afraid. I will try to get back to you, though, even if it's VERY late. I really do appreciate the mail!

I have recently moved to the Seattle area so I thought a new look was in order; something to do between unloading boxes, LOL.  I also have added a new page about my local studio.

Vocal Splendor has received an Informative Music Site Award. I am honored to have my work recognized by the Internet music community.

The new look is here!   I'll be getting the site changed over during the next couple of weeks. With this redesign, I've also added message boards with the ability to build threaded discussions. I do hope you all stop by and say hi.

I have just added two essays by Vocalist favorite, Dr. Diane Clark. Go to the Voice Studio to read her excellent guides to developing character studies for art songs.

Okay...I've done it...at least part of it. Most of "11 Tips.." has been written and has been uploaded here. I still have 4 tips to write out, probably the ones you are most interested in. Please keep in mind that these tips are a work in progress. I will continue to flesh out and update these ideas.

Happy New Year and New Millenium!!!  I have just added real audio to my Music Clip page.  I have also been working on my "11 Tips..".  I am putting each tip on its own page, which will allow me to continue to flesh out my ideas over time.  I hope to upload this weekend.

Woo hoo! I finally have figured out how to make song clips.  You can listen to my singing at my Music Clips Page.  I have included opera, vocal jazz and some recent studio work in mp3 format.   I also have joined the Vocal Jazz, Music Lovers, and Classical music Webring.

I have created a new look and logo for the Voice Studio section.  I wanted to make it printer friendly since I am adding more articles.   I have also added an article on jazz singing.  I have added three new pages: webrings, photos, and music clips(soon-to come!).

To those of you who are waiting for the 11 Tips for Singers Who Want to Improve, I'm about halfway through writing the article. Don't despair! It is coming.

I have tweaked my main page, added a F.A.Q. and added some new links to my What else? page.  I found a new enneagram site which has caused me to re-consider my enneagram type.  I now think I am a 5 - the thinker.  I guess that would stand to reason in light of the programming nerd I have become, LOL!

I have also added some new enneagram and Myer Briggs books to my bookstore.

I have begun learning graphic design with Paint Shop Pro.  I have added a logo for my voice studio page and I have created a definite site for my web design business, Websong Productions, with my own original graphics.  Pretty fun stuff.
